As a UX designer, I embarked on an exciting and challenging journey to design a powerful SaaS platform with a specific purpose in mind: to create the revolutionary NoChannel Portal. This platform was envisioned to transform the landscape of retail operations, serving as the ultimate solution for retailers seeking to streamline their product and content management processes. However, our ambition extended far beyond the ordinary data entry tool. We aimed to craft a comprehensive business intelligence dashboard, one that would empower retailers with data-driven insights, enabling them to optimize their operations effectively.

Disclaimer: I did not create this case study until 3 years after I left this position, so I am unable to show before/after comparisons. If there were any before versions of these interfaces, just imagine them looking like a simple list of database string that could not be edited in any way.

Restructuring the Information Architecture

The mission was clear: to develop a platform that would enable retailers to not only manage their product and content data efficiently but also gain invaluable perspectives on their actions’ impact on content and product performance. The NoChannel Portal was designed to empower retailers to gather and correlate diverse data points encompassing product content, social media, and SEO. The goal was to offer a holistic view of their business, enabling them to enhance their data and its interconnected elements, ultimately leading to improved retail performance.

In my role as a UX designer, I embraced the challenge of creating a user-focused platform that would simplify the complex world of retail data, making it both understandable and navigable. The principles guiding our design process emphasized clarity and ease of navigation, employing visual aids such as charts and graphs to present data compellingly and digestibly. Additionally, we offered customizable search and filtering options to facilitate efficient data exploration and broke down large data sets into manageable portions, ensuring ease of navigation and information discovery.

In this journey, my goal was to empower retailers with a tool that not only met their immediate needs but also pushed the boundaries of what was possible in retail optimization. The NoChannel Portal was not just a project; it was a transformative endeavor aimed at redefining the way retailers approached their data management and decision-making processes. This is the story of how, as a UX designer, I played a crucial role in designing a SaaS platform with a vision to revolutionize retail operations through the NoChannel Portal.

Products Manager UI

I faced the challenge of creating an intuitive spreadsheet-like interface. This interface needed to enable users to seamlessly batch edit, duplicate, and delete entries with ease. Drawing inspiration from the user-friendly design of WooCommerce, I crafted a visually engaging and efficient solution. The result was a user interface that not only simplified data management but also provided a familiar and efficient experience, empowering users to handle tasks effortlessly.

Conditional Formula UI

I undertook the formidable challenge of crafting a highly intricate interface that would grant users the power to create an array of customized conditions for their customers, delivering a profoundly personalized experience. Drawing inspiration from the versatility and robustness of BigCommerce, I conceptualized an intuitive and flexible platform. This design allowed users to define an extensive range of conditions, from purchase history to browsing behavior, tailoring the customer journey to the minutest detail. The result was an interface that not only rivaled the capabilities of BigCommerce but also provided users with the tools to offer unparalleled personalized experiences, setting a new standard in customer engagement.

Rating & Review UI

Taking cues from the user-friendly design of Amazon, I envisioned a platform where users could not only rate products but also evaluate them by specific aspects, upload images to enhance their feedback, and effortlessly enable businesses to moderate reviews. The result was an intuitive and engaging UI that not only mirrored the trusted Amazon model but also elevated the user experience. It empowered both customers and businesses to participate actively in shaping product narratives, fostering transparency, and fostering a sense of community around the brand.

File Manager UI

I took on the challenge of creating a highly efficient file manager interface that would streamline media hosting for businesses, eliminating the cumbersome task of uploading images individually. Inspired by the user-friendly design principles of Dropbox, I conceptualized an intuitive UI. This platform enabled users to perform a range of actions with ease: delete, duplicate, search, download, edit, and even view full images. The outcome was a seamless and organized media management solution that not only mirrored the convenience of Dropbox but also enhanced the user experience, making file handling and accessibility a breeze for businesses, saving them valuable time and effort.

Theme Design UI

I had to create a versatile interface that empowered brands to customize their online store’s appearance according to their unique vision. Drawing inspiration from the customization capabilities of BigCommerce, I envisioned a user-friendly platform that allowed users to effortlessly add their branding elements, configure headers, footers, buttons, fonts, and more. This intuitive UI provided brands with the creative control they desired, enabling them to curate a distinct online presence that resonated with their identity. The outcome was a flexible and empowering design solution that not only rivaled the capabilities of BigCommerce but also granted brands the autonomy to shape their digital storefront into a true reflection of their brand personality and values.

Storefront Theme UIs

Catering to brands that preferred a hassle-free, plug-and-play approach to their online store design. Drawing inspiration from the user-friendly and scalable model of Home Depot, I designed a range of themes tailored to diverse business sizes. These themes included options for small businesses, medium-sized enterprises, and even a robust one capable of handling a staggering one million SKUs. Each theme was meticulously crafted to provide a seamless and visually appealing storefront, empowering brands to kickstart their online presence without the need for extensive customization or coding, thus simplifying the journey of establishing a compelling digital retail presence.
